I was disappointed that
the YF-23 lost out to the YF-22 in the ATF competition.
Personally I think this is a much cooler looking aircraft
than the banal YF-22. Guess it was a little too radical
for the US Air Force or something.
As per usual with this scale I built this pretty much
out of the box except for a couple of changes in the cockpit.
Revell had the pilot sitting about five feet away from
the instrument panel so I moved the seat forward and covered
the space behind with a bit of sheet plastic painted black.
I also scratchbuilt some side consoles and sanded off
the overly large canopy frame.
The aircraft serial number should go on both sides of
the stabilisers but Revell only supply enough decals for
one side.
