The True Details cockpit
was quite nice and fit very well. I went with the painting
recommendations in Monogram's "Japanese Cockpit Interiors";
Aotake sidewalls and a blue/grey floor.
The wheel well on the left
is as moulded by Hasegawa, the right side has been opened
out in preparation for constructing new wells.
Above
and below: Bottom and top views of the
new wheel wells.
Ready for paint. Note the
corrected bulge over the carb intake from sheet plastic
and filler.
Primed with Alclad black
primer and polished.
I have no idea what happened
here. The Alclad cracked and crazed in a few spots, not
something I've had happen before. Paint was stripped off
and I started again, not for the last time.
