Maybe it's just me, or
perhaps it's human nature, but it seems whenever I look
at a kit for the first time my eye is immediately drawn
not to the parts themselves, but to the sprues they're
attached to. Therefore, when I first opened the Ace BRDM-2
box I saw large, crudely moulded sprues and thought "Aaaarghh!!!
What the hell is this monstrosity?!"
Fortunately the brain, having momentarily retreated to
its happy place, returned with its calm and measured reasoning
and forced me to look at the kit parts. "Aaaarghh!!!
What the hell is this monstrosity?!", I yelled. Oh
wait a minute, this is actually quite nice.
The mouldings are very nice in fact. Crisp detail, sharp
edges and quite usable small parts.
All that needs to be added
are some grab handles on the hull, lifting rings on the
turret and a stretched sprue antenna. Oh, and a bit of
paint and glue wouldn't go amiss.
